A full roof is the biggest fabric job a house ever sees. We treat it that way. New felt, new battens, lead to BS 6915, ridge tiles mortared and screwed, all photographed before scaffold comes down.
Six stages from scaffold to clean strike.
No surprises. No dust sheets left in the gutters. Every stage photographed and signed off.
- 01. Scaffold and safety. Independent scaffold to current TG20 spec, edge protection on every elevation, pedestrian gantry where the public passes.
- 02. Strip and load out. Old tiles or slates off, felt and battens stripped, everything skipped or palletised. Salvageable slates set aside if you want them re used.
- 03. Timber repairs, membrane, battens. Rotten rafters, sprockets and gable boards swapped. Breathable membrane laid with proper laps. New treated battens at the right gauge for the covering.
- 04. Re-cover. Tile, natural slate or concrete laid in courses. Verges, hips and ridges set out before the first tile to keep every line true.
- 05. Leadwork, ridges, valleys. Lead flashings dressed to BS 6915. Ridge and hip tiles bedded and mechanically fixed. Valleys formed so water leaves the roof, not sits on it.
- 06. Sign off and strike. Full photo record from scaffold and drone. Guarantee paperwork issued. Site swept, scaffold struck within 48 hours.
